Schaefer Advertising Co.

Eager to gain agency experience, I applied for a summer internship position at Schaefer Advertising in March 2024 and completed three rounds of interviews, including a 30-minute strategic marketing pitch for Summer Zoo Camp. I was hired as the account services intern for the Attractions, Tourism, and Arts team, working with clients such as the Fort Worth Zoo, Texas Ballet Theatre, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and Icon Golf.

I worked at the agency 20–25 hours per week during the summer and was invited to continue the internship, first through the fall 2024 semester and then into the spring 2025 semester.

My internship responsibilities closely aligned with those of an account coordinator, as I worked directly with clients on upcoming campaigns and communicated with internal creative, digital, and production teams to execute the client’s vision. I was heavily involved in several campaigns, including the Fort Worth Zoo’s Zoo Ball, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History’s new Omni Theatre, and Texas Ballet Theatre’s The Nutcracker. For The Nutcracker campaign, I tracked and reported ticket sales that drove sales $200k over their original seven figure goal.

Schaefer has about 40 employees in its Fort Worth office, and I love the close-knit, family atmosphere of the agency. I work primarily with a team of three bright, young, creative women, and I have discovered that I enjoy working in an ever-changing environment that requires attention to detail, diplomacy, and a commitment to producing materials that exceed the client’s expectations.
