Charles Schwab Challenge

I worked closely with the Tournament Associate and Director of Sales for the 2023 and 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge PGA TOUR events at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. My primary responsibilities during two six-week internships included the execution and management of Executive Women’s Day and Honorary Observers. Other duties included managing furniture load-in, assisting with the Ben Hogan awards dinner, and coordinating the Military Home Donation ceremony.

For Executive Women’s Day, I helped create the programs, arranged invitation delivery, wrote the run of show, managed travel logistics for keynote speakers Annika Sorenstam, Martina Navratilova, and Chris Evert, coordinated sponsorship assets, managed the guest list, and communicated with our agency on social media coverage.

For Honorary Observers, I was responsible for providing scheduling information and instructions to over 200 guests, including clients of our top sponsors, for their exclusive behind-the-ropes experience. This included sending multiple personalized emails to each guest, updating the CSC website, assembling welcome bags, assigning tee times, and calling each Honorary Observer the day before their walk with instructions.

Working with the CSC team taught me the importance of advanced planning, teamwork, and flexibility. I had the privilege of collaborating with the PGA TOUR to create a successful event for both golfers and spectators, ensuring sponsors received maximum return on their investment. The grace and dignity with which the CSC staff handled the tragic death of golfer Grayson Murray during the 2024 tournament taught me invaluable lessons I will carry with me throughout my career.
